Safe and Secure Lancaster is one of the key priorities of Lancaster BID.
We recently signed up to Disc online platform which facilitates sharing of data regarding crime and low level offences in a GDPR compliant manner. The platform is used nationally by over 100 BIDs which rely on Disc to share vital information with levy-payers about local crime and ASB, the offenders responsible for it and essential current-awareness, as well as to manage local ‘exclusion schemes’.
The scheme has been successfully piloted with a small number of businesses in the city centre since December and is now ready to be rolled out more widely. All Lancaster BID Levy payers and Associate Members are encouraged to sign up to access the system free of charge.

As well as sharing data on offenders between businesses, the platform can be used to submit crime reports direct to the police and also to report public realm problems within the city centre.

Each member of staff requiring access to the system must request an individual login.
