BID Renewal Ballot Update

Ballot papers for the Lancaster BID Renewal Ballot were sent out by post last week and should now have arrived with all eligible voters. If you believe you are entitled to vote in the ballot and have not received your paper, please email [email protected] as soon as possible. We can check the address your ballot papers have been sent to and, if necessary, guide you through the process to request a replacement.

To help you decide how to vote, we encourage you to read about our Key Goals for the next five years in our Business Plan HERE.

You can also check out the answers to commonly asked questions in our Lancaster BID Ballot FAQs sheet HERE.

We would like to thank everyone who has already returned their ballot papers and encourage everyone else to post them as soon as possible. With the current potential for postal delays, we want your ballot paper to arrive in time to ensure your voice is heard. All ballot papers must be received by the electoral agent no later than 5.00pm on Thursday 11th February 2021 to be included in the count.

Ballot papers must be completed and signed before posting to ensure they are counted. Anyone who has authority within your business can sign and return the ballot paper – it doesn’t need to be the named contact on the form. It is up to each voting business to determine who has permission to sign and submit the ballot.

BID regulations only allow replacement ballot papers to be sent out a maximum of four days before the ballot closes. If required, replacements should be requested in advance of this and will be posted to you by courier as soon as the regulations allow. To make sure replacement ballots are received and can be quickly submitted before the deadline, we advise having them sent to your home address or wherever the key contact will immediately receive them.

Throughout the ballot period the Lancaster BID team are available to answer any questions you have and to assist with requests for replacement ballot papers if required. You can contact the BID team in office hours on 01524 590650 or email [email protected] at any time.

We are happy to arrange a Zoom meeting with one of the BID team if you would like a more detailed discussion about our Five Goals to help you decide how to vote.

Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to hopefully continuing to work on your behalf across Lancaster city centre for a further five years.
