Following the success of our first Toy Appeal last year, we are delighted to confirm the campaign will be returning in December to collect toys for less fortunate children in the district.
Kindly Sponsored by Travellers Choice, we will once again be appealing to the public and business community to donate new or nearly new toys to those children that really need them this Christmas. We have teamed up with local charities: Cancercare, Joe’s Clothes, Helping Heart for Ukraine, the Children’s Ward at RLI and Unique Kidz and Co who will be helping make sure the donations reach those who need them the most.
The Toy Appeal launches on Christmas Lights switch on day (26th November) and will run through to Saturday 17th December. On this day, a Travellers Choice coach with Santa on board will deliver all the toys collected to the chosen charities. Traveller’s Choice, Wagon & Horses, Nando’s, YMCA Shop and The Cumberland have kindly allowed toys to be dropped off in their stores but we are on the look out for other drop off points. It would be ideal if you have window space to show some of them off, but it is not essential as long as you don’t mind collecting them. We will supply you with posters to say you are a drop off point for The Toy appeal and we can arrange regular collections to store them for you if you are short of space.
As well as supporting a great cause, acting as a drop off will help attract people into your business and encourage them to make their festive purchases with you.
