Lancaster BID has worked with Lancaster City Council and the Lancaster Bus Users Group to offer FREE Shoppers buses on Sundays and for late night shopping from 28th November until Christmas. This is a new pilot project this year to run alongside the Free Parking on City Council car parks and make it even easier for everyone to visit Lancaster city centre for all their festive needs.
The FREE buses will operate on the 7, 10, 11 and 18 bus routes into the city centre on Sundays and late night shopping evenings between 28th November and Christmas.
The FREE Sunday services will be available to all passengers on the above routes travelling on 28th November, 5th, 12th and 19th December. This will be the usual Stagecoach buses operating the usual Sunday timetable.
The Buses for late night shopping will be running on 2nd, 9th, 16th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd December.
Buses on the number 7 route will be provided by Stagecoach on the usual evening timetable. Free travel will be available on the 20:00, 21:00 and 23:00 departures from Lancaster Bus Station on each of the above dates.
Evening buses on the number 10, 11 and 18 routes will be operated by Travellers’ Choice after the final Stagecoach buses have completed the usual timetable service. They will be mostly operating on the usual bus routes for these services at the same minutes past each hour as the earlier Stagecoach buses. Note that the services delivered by Travellers’ Choice will all depart from Common Garden Street bus stops and will NOT call at Lancaster Bus Station.
